As I left for work this morning, I noticed a most unusual little doggie-doo deposit on the sidewalk outside. I just had to snap a pic...

So as some of you noted in this post, my family was a bit on the intense side in the 70s. Basically, they lived in a wood and adobe house on the banks of the Rio Grande River (literally--it flooded up to the house walls every summer!) in a little speed bump of a town called Embudo. They kept ducks and goats. Hardcore stuff. Here's a bit of a chronicle of those outlaw days.

* I went to the Post Office on Market after work to mail a couple things and saw two (2) men with shaved heads, both of whom had missed little tufts of hair at the nape of their necks. These men did not know each other, nor did they seem to have anything in common other than a lack of someone in their lives to tell them they missed a spot. Either that, or it's a new fashion trend.
* There are, as the news insists on calling them, "oral arguments" being presented today regarding gay marriage. I was having a mid-morning snack in the library cafeteria when I look over and see none other than Bruce Wayne's dad, er, our Mayor, Gavin "Privileged Boy" Newsom talking to the press after some sort of talk at the library auditorium regarding the issue. It's sort of weird to work somewhere where that sort of thing can happen.
* I had to take a picture of a library catalog search this crazy patron entered. He was dressed like a crazy Vietnam vet, but I don't think he's old enough to be one. He told me all about how the LA Unified School District owns Compton and paid gang members to open fire on a liquor store while super-expensive "gene splicing" cameras were rolling. Then he went over and typed his search into the computer, hunting and pecking the letters. After he left I mosied over and saw this:
( cia director 18002001445 congress senate house represent... )
Amazingly, we do NOT carry a book by that title. Surprising, I know.
* Somehow, after I got home, I started watching a bunch of Andy Kaufman clips on YouTube.
( Tony Clifton on the Muppets! )
( The infamous slap )
( Andy shows off his wrestling prowess )
( Rose Marie )
I MUST find some sheet music for that song to play on my uke.
But seriously, that man was so far ahead of his time it's sad and scary.
*Last item: we are so very, very screwed.

Since I'm procrastinating on getting some work done, I figured I'd do something pseudo-productive and post a bit of an update on how things are going around here.
