[info]drownedinink, this post is especially for you. You MUST own this game!

My latest big writing project has at long, long last finally gotten under way--my first deadline is tomorrow--so naturally my life has been taken over by one of my periodic forays into the realm of computer gaming.

Man, I really want to run an urban horror game where the characters are 80s hardcore punk kids.

Day the third.

Well, the geekiness continues, what can I say? I was quite surprised and gladdened to win a little award of recognition for my gaming blog, which I also linked to on my first day's post. Good week for gaming!

Thanks for the cool meme ,[info]zombified!

I'm supposed to tag 8 people, but I think [info]delicata77 pretty much covered the people I would've tagged. But if you're reading this and you'd like to participate in this, by all means do so!

Today was a great day. It's really hard to pick just one thing, but I guess I'll go with the geeky fun I had today...

Huzzah!

ETA: Forgot to post the rules!

The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day.

Nerd Declaiming ~by me
I got a Bamboo drawing tablet for Christmas, but thanks to a lack of USB ports on my computer I haven't really had a chance to really take it for a test run (constantly plugging and unplugging USB connections on the back of my compy=no fun)...until this week, when I finally got off my duff and bought a USB hub.

The first go: a character portrait for [info]delicata77's character in an ongoing King Arthur Pendragon game I've been running on and off for over a year now.

The nerdy results. )

I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. The tablet is a joy to use and allows me to combine my Photoshop skillz with my love of drawing. Good times!

Dave: You could always show up at my parents' old place and ask if you could stay there. Just explain to the new tenants that you know the layout of the house *intimately* and that there are two ways you could get in--the nice way, or the not so nice way.
Alex: lol
Alex: I could mention how I helped plant that lemon tree, or at least damaged it enough that it needed to be replanted
Dave: It was never replanted lol
Dave: It just healed itself
Dave: Tis a magic tree
Alex: we sundered it you realize
Dave: Yes. And Odin was well wroth. But he was appeased with many sacrifices and he scribed the holy runes of healing upon it.
Alex: your mom is Odin?
Dave: Yeah, didn't you know?
Alex: no wow, that's rad
Dave: Yeah, it's got its upsides and downsides I guess.
Dave: It's funny, you grow up with it and you never realize how unusual it is until you go to school and you're like, "Wait, your mom is not a Scandinavian god? What the F?"

Since I'm procrastinating on getting some work done, I figured I'd do something pseudo-productive and post a bit of an update on how things are going around here.

Serious stuff and non-sequiter pictures--how postmodern of me )
